Mitch Majeski is the founder of Lapis Partners, where he helps leaders, executive teams and boards make better decisions and own them.
His path into this work took a few turns. Majeski trained as a civil engineer, earned a master’s degree from Colorado State University and worked in mining and water resources. While teaching as a graduate student at CSU, he found he had a knack for getting people to the heart of a problem.
That pulled him toward a second career: nearly 20 years as a pastor. He learned to hear what people weren’t saying, stay in hard conversations and tell the truth without breaking trust. He still draws on all of it.
Over the past decade, Majeski has advised and developed leaders across agriculture, cooperatives, technology, manufacturing, mining, food and engineering in the U.S. and abroad. Much of that work has been with executive teams and boards. He also co-founded Build Better Boards, an initiative focused on strengthening cooperative boards.
Majeski’s approach is practical and highly interactive. He puts leadership to work on the decisions and relationships people carry every day.
